NEW LAB A LEAP FORWARD FOR QUANTUM
Waltham Abbey-based Quantum Diagnostics, becomes the country’s leading independent drug testing company today (March 29, 2007) with the launch of its new, state-of-the-art laboratory.
The new facility, part of a £1m-plus expansion of the business, means that in addition to providing high-quality point-of-care drug testing equipment, Quantum can now offer fast and efficient screening and confirmation services, creating a tailored, one-stop-shop for its growing list of customers.
The new laboratory was officially opened by Mr Phil Willis MP, Chairman of the influential House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee.
Welcoming this important addition to the campaign to tackle drug abuse on the streets and in the workplace, Mr Willis said:
"Drug use and drug abuse has become an all too common phenomena in today's complex society and has a significant effect on individual and business performance. Testing that is tailored to individual situations, offering maximum flexibility with high levels of accuracy is crucial in the fight against drug misuse.
"I have a long standing interest in the fight against drug abuse both as an educationalist and a politician. The drive to have drug free workplaces, schools and other organisations by increasing testing regimes is a win for employers and a win for individuals.
“I wish the company every success as it offers organisations a sophisticated, high quality and affordable testing service to combat drug abuse.”
Managing Director of Quantum Diagnostics, Mr James Lawson said:
“Today marks a major milestone for the company, putting us in the forefront of the fight against drug abuse across the UK.
“We strongly believe that effective, easy-to-use testing, backed up by a fast and reliable analysis service, is a vital part of the drive to tackle the blight of drug abuse that is causing so many problems in our society today.
“We at Quantum are pleased and proud to have invested in this new laboratory facility, equipped with the most up-to-date analysis equipment available, as part of our on-going programme of development and expansion.
“Coupled with our highly-regarded range of drug testing equipment, the new laboratory means we are now the country’s leading independent provider of comprehensive drug-testing solutions.”
